Meramandali, May 20, 2026: A series of community development infrastructure projects at Ganthigadia and Nuahata villages under Banarpal block of Angul district were inaugurated by Pratap Chandra Pradhan, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Angul, along with local Panchayat representatives and villagers.
Among others, Subhransu Shekhar Panda, Chief Corporate Services, Tata Steel Meramandali, Anant Paul, Lead-Infrastructure, TSF and Renubala Dhir, Sarpanch, Nuahata, and Pankaj Sahu, Village President, Ganthigadia, graced the occasion.
The projects included construction of a Community Centre at Ganthigadia village, construction of a Cement Concrete (CC) Road connecting the village to the main PWD road, and installation of a High Mast Lighting Tower at Diha Sahi village. These initiatives were undertaken to strengthen rural infrastructure, improve connectivity, enhance public safety, and create common spaces for community development activities.
The newly constructed Community Centre will serve as a common platform for organising welfare programmes, community meetings, training sessions, social functions, and development initiatives. The facility is expected to benefit around 200 villagers.
The CC Road constructed at Ganthigadia village will significantly improve transportation and accessibility for nearly 2,000 commuters, who earlier faced severe difficulties due to the damaged mud road, especially during the rainy season.
Further, the installation of the High Mast Lighting Tower at Nuahata Diha Sahi village will improve illumination and safety in the area, ensuring safer movement of villagers during night hours and enhancing security in community gathering places.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries appreciated the initiatives and emphasized the importance of strengthening rural infrastructure for overall socio-economic development and improvement in the quality of life of the people.
Within the last 10 days, TSF has inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for concrete roads, community centers, passenger shelters, school buildings, science laboratories and solar-powered street lighting systems in the Banarpal, Odapada and Hindol blocks. These projects were inaugurated and foundation stones laid by the Hon’ble Dhenkanal MP Shri Rudra Narayan Pani, Hon’ble Angul MLA Shri Pratap Chandra Pradhan and Hon’ble Hindol MLA Smt. Simarani Nayak. More than 30,000 people of the local area will benefit from these initiatives.
