Somnath, Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the historic Somnath Temple to commemorate the 75th anniversary of its reconstruction, calling the occasion a “milestone in Bharat’s civilisational journey.”

Modi recalled the moment when India’s first President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, inaugurated the rebuilt temple in 1951, highlighting the continuity of devotion and heritage.

He emphasised that Somnath radiates divine energy and collective Bhakti, symbolising India’s resilience and timeless culture.

The Prime Minister shared his reflections on social media, expressing gratitude and reverence: “Jai Somnath! Feeling blessed to be here…” He described the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav as a celebration of unity, spirituality, and cultural resurgence, reinforcing the temple’s enduring significance in India’s civilisational narrative.
